The Department of Political Science, in co-sponsorship with the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity, WGST, LGBT Faculty Network, and LMAS, is hosting a campus-wide event featuring Professor Melissa Michelson of Political Science at Menlo College. Dr. Michelson will present her recently released book, Listen, We Need to Talk: How to Change Attitudes about LGBT Rights. The book presents and successfully tests a new theory of Dissonant Identity Priming, which outlines how people's attitudes on Marriage Equality and other hot-button identity topics can be changed.
