Laura Roskos, President of WILPF USA to speak at UNT for International Women's Day

In honor of International Women's Day, the Women's Studies Program has invited Laura Roskos, President of the US Section of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) to give a lecture entitled "Human Rights, Women's Rights: The Path to Sustainable Peace". Dr. Roskos is activist-in-residence at Suffolk University's Center for Women's Health and Human Rights, where she conducts research on the progress toward US ratification of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women under the umbrella of the Massachusetts CEDAW project, which she co-founded, and on feminist interventions in the World Social Forum.

Her lecture will be held in the Golden Eagle Suite (Union) on Thursday, March 8th, at 7:00 p.m.
