Valerie Hudson, author of "Sex & World Peace" to speak at UNT on February 27th

The Women's Studies Program and the Castleberry Peace Institute have invited Dr. Valerie Hudson, Professor and George H.W. Bush Chair at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, to give a lecture on February 27th, 2014, at 7:00 pm , in the Business Leadership Building, room 180. Her lecture, entitled "Sex & World Peace", will look at the link between state security and women's security. In the book "Sex & World Peace" which she co-authored, Dr. Hudson proposes that the best predictor of a state's peacefulness is not its wealth, democracy or ethno-religious identity, but its treatment of women. The lecture will be followed by a book signing. For more information, click here.
