Dr. Suzanne Enck to kick off Women's & Gender Studies Lecture Series on October 21st

Dr. Suzanne Enck, Assistant Professor of Communication Studies and Women's & Gender Studies Affiliate, will be kicking off the brand new Women's & Gender Studies Lecture Series with a presentation titled "How Ray Rice Discourse Distracts Us From Domestic Violence", on Tuesday, October 21, at 4:00 pm, in Hickory Hall, Room 252. Critiquing the flurry of mass-mediated discourse surrounding Ray Rice's now infamous assault on his wife Janay, this talk will consider how selections of information circulating around this couple function to distract us from more difficult cultural conversations and interventions about domestic violence.
