The Women's & Gender Studies Program will be offering a new course in fall 2014: "Latinas and Leadership" (WMST 4260.002). The course will be taught by Ellen Castro, best-selling author of Spirited Leadership, 2014 International Latino Book Award winner. Castro has been an exhilarating speaker, a global consultant and a trusted coach since the 1980s. Her clients range from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies to non-profits to schools and individuals. Castro has touched millions via keynotes and media appearances. She earned her MEd from Harvard and MBA from Southern Methodist University where she served on the faculty of The Business Leadership Center. What challenges do Latinas face in assuming leadership roles? How can Latinas cultivate networking skills? Those questions--as well as myriads of other concerns faced by Latinas as they finish their education and embark upon careers--will be addressed in this course. Class will meet on Mondays, 3:30-6:20 p.m., in Wh 312. No prerequisites. For more information, please contact the Women's & Gender Studies Program at 940-565-2098.
