UNT's Women's & Gender Studies Program centers intersectional feminist education, research, and advocacy through a multi-disciplinary, theoretically diverse curriculum. Housing a master's degree program in WGST and undergraduate minors in WGST and LGBTQ studies, the Women's and Gender Studies program educates students to think critically about social injustices based on gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, class and ability in a global context. Our program serves students, faculty, staff, and community partners through interdisciplinary research and course offerings, engaging those audiences in discussions that center the lived experiences of marginalized individuals and communities. The WGST program seeks imaginative ways collectively to foster queer and feminist ways of seeing the world, investigate the opportunities and challenges of living in a global diaspora, and collaboratively build welcoming spaces that respect and celebrate differences.
