Tracy Everbach is a professor of journalism in the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas. She teaches undergraduate and graduate classes on race, gender and media, news reporting, and research methods. Her research focuses on representations of race and gender in media including representations of marginalized groups, women and newsroom practices, sexual harassment, and sports media in relation to gender, disability, and LGBTQ people. . Her work has been published in journals such as Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Newspaper Research Journal, Media Report to Women, and Columbia Journalism Review. She is co-author of two books: Mediating Misogyny: Gender, Technology & Harassment (Palgrave MacMillan, 2018) and Testing Tolerance: Addressing Controversy in the Journalism and Mass Communication Classroom (Rowman & Littlefield, 2020). Everbach is a former newspaper reporter in Boston and Dallas, including 12 years on the city desk at The Dallas Morning News.
