Dr. Waquar Ahmed

Associate Professor, Department of Geography and the Environment

Dr. Ahmed's research and teaching is committed to making a just world possible. He is on this 'journey' with his students to contribute to changing history for the un-alienated liberation of humankind from all forms of exploitation, discrimination and domination. He engages with feminist theories, particularly socialist feminist theories in most of his research (along with Marxist and post-structuralist theories). Amongst feminist scholars, his work has been particularly informed by Judith Butler, Julie Graham, Katherine Gibson and Doreen Massey. He is also the managing editor of the journal Human Geography that theoretically and politically favor feminist and queer approaches (in addition to other left approaches).
