UNT's Women's & Gender Studies Program centers intersectional feminist education, research, and advocacy through a multi-disciplinary, theoretically diverse curriculum. Housing a master's degree program in WGST and undergraduate minors in WGST and LGBTQ studies, the WGST program works to challenge social injustices based on gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, class and ability in a global context. Our program serves students, faculty, staff, and community partners through interdisciplinary research and course offerings, engaging those audiences in discussions that center the lived experiences of marginalized individuals and counties. WGST seeks imaginative ways collectively to foster queer and feminist activism, investigate the opportunities and challenges of living in a global diaspora, and collaboratively build welcoming spaces that respect and celebrate differences.
